Helen Salas (second from the right), former Miss Nevada USA, is one of the finalists in the Miss LAX contest. LAX, a nightclub in The Luxor Hotel, is one of Criss Angel’s haunts (hint - look for him there on Saturdays).
The weekly LAX bikini contest will eventually lead to one winner who will be announced in March
Salas is now one of the finalists, with the winner landing a grand prize of $50,000 and an appearance on illusionist Criss Angel’s TV show, “Mindfreak.”

Ahoy, mindfreak magician Criss Angel kept mum about the two band-aids he had on the side o’ his now-bearded face when he hit the new Cathouse restaurant and loungerie at the Luxor. E’en the Coquette dancers couldn’t pry the secret from him as t’ if it was a stunt gone wrong, an accident, or gi’in’ up on the first attempt t’ sha’e off the beard, shiver me timbers!
Criss’ stylist has watched Pirates of the Caribbean one to many times. Criss, Cap’n Jack Sparrow called, he wants his pirate style back.

As we previously wrote, Criss Angel told the LA Times ““I don’t have time to shave. I’ve been really intensely training on my close-up stuff like cards and different effects.” No time to shave, however he does find time to go out clubbing at LAX and as shown in this photo from the other night, at The Cathouse, an erotic & exotic brothel-themed restaurant and ultra-lounge at The Luxor.

Criss Angel Found His Inner Beard, But Lost His Record

So how was your weekend? The more important question is this; “How was Criss Angel’s weekend?”
While you guys were sitting around watching YouTube parodies of David Blaine, our man Criss was out growing his beard & practicing sleight-of-camera hand.
Criss said this to the LA Times: “I don’t have time to shave. I’ve been really intensely training on my close-up stuff like cards and different effects. The purest form of magic is close-up. There have been things I have really wanted to do for years and have been playing with for three years (on ‘Mindfreak’) but that I never mastered. But now I think I have it under control.”
No time to shave? Wow, that’s some intense practicing going on! I guess Criss isn’t into multi-tasking. He could shave in the shower (unless that’s not happening either) or the next time he gets highlights in his hair.

Friday night Criss found himself without a world record as Matt Zane, lead singer and front man for industrial-metal band Society 1, broke Criss’ suspension record by hanging from 4 hooks for 6 hours.
Criss Angel Voted Most Annoying by Vegas Tripping

We don’t know how official this ranking is, but the editors of VegasTripping.com have voted Criss Angel The Most Annoying in Las Vegas.

The readers of VegasTripping voted Paris Hilton The Most Annoying in Las Vegas, so it’s good to see Criss is in good company. Criss has been romantically connected to Paris Hilton 
and Pam Anderson. Anderson’s current husband is Rick Salomon used to be with Paris Hilton and was the guy in Paris’ infamous, unauthorized video. Pam had a couple of similar videos. Let’s hope Criss isn’t going in THAT direction. While the release of his MindFreak Complete Season 3 DVD set has been pushed back a week, any “unauthorized” Criss Angel videos can be pushed back indefinitely!

Insuring A MindFreak

Ellusionist discovered that Cirque du Soleil has obtained a massive insurance policy to cover bets on their new, soon to be, headliner Criss Angel.
Cirque is also working on a back up plan in case the “MindFreak” star cannot meet his contractual obligation of 4,000 shows over the next 10 years.
The Mindfreak kid seems to be hotter than ever, and Criss Angel’s new $100 million dollar show is scheduled to open this July at the Luxor in Las Vegas.
Maybe Criss should put up some of that bling for collateral and save Cirque a few bucks.
Criss Angel Live Show Slated for Luxor in ‘08

The third season of MindFreak brought a partnership between Criss Angel & The Luxor in Vegas. Recently it was announced that Criss will team up with Cirque du Soleil for a permanent live show at The Luxor.
The rumors I’ve heard over the past couple of years was that the only reason Criss wanted to do MindFreak was to get a live Vegas show. No doubt the TV exposure will help put people in the seats. It’s worked for Lance Burton, with far less TV exposure. Another rumor is that this fourth season will be the last season for MindFreak. I had heard that before the second season and also the third season, so we’ll see what transpires. It would be a heck of grind to do both!
