Ross to attempt ‘suicide’ body suspension

Here’s a late entry for last week’s stunt week. Sorry about the delay; I blame excessive geeking out over talking to Larry Wilmore.

Eric Ross, creator of Election and Infinity Bend, will attempt to set a world record for hanging in a piercing suspension. Sometime next July, he’ll set up shop in Rosa Park Circle, in Grand Rapids, Mich., and attempt to hang about five to 10 stories high for 24 hours in a “suicide” body suspension. That means four hooks through his back that are attached to a single rope.

“It’s something I witnessed live a few years back, at my local tat shop,” Ross told us via e-mail. “It was such a beautiful piece of art, the image has stuck with me since. Only I wanted to take it to the next level.”

Ross has begun training for all the pains and strains he will endure, physical and mental. He is also in communications with Guinness World Records to see if there’s a record to be set or broken.
