I think that any performer that dislikes public Tweeting is going to be in for more and more upset as time goes on. I frequently tweet during an event if I feel there’s something worth saying. In a magic performance, I’d probably wait for a quiet moment simply because I don’t want to look away. However, I’ve tweeted during many keynote addresses and the like, especially when I know I’m at an event that others are interested in but couldn’t make. I’ve also met people at events simply because we were both tweeting about it.

Here’s a thought… rather than try and stop it (nearly impossible) or get upset about it (utterly useless)… why not embrace it? I’d love to go to a magic show where the magician put a hashtag right on the program. Think about the publicity and chatter it would create!
