New Gary Jules CD available Tuesday

Why do we care about the guy who sang that sad, Tears for Fears cover song on the Donnie Darko soundtrack? Because his piano player is Adam-freaking-Grace, that’s why.

“Bird” is the first release for Gary Jules and the Group Rules, Jules’ first organized band. The new CD features nine tracks and will be available on CD Baby and iTunes.

Grace was recently named as a Special Guest of Honor on the venerated Magic Cafe Forums. In addition to creating Frozen and Glass (and Ringtone, soon to be released), he is an actor and musician who has studied at the Juilliard Conservatory. He’s played with Jules, Warren Zevon, Bob Dylan and The Wallflowers. Grace was part of Jules band when “Mad World” broke big in the UK. (I’m not sure that’s Grace in the video.)
