I agree. Aaron is a great wealth of knowledge, but I couldn't STAND watching Search and Destroy. I loved Paper Engine, but listening to him talk and plug his products on this video really turned me off to a Double Lift/Turnover DVD or online video he would produce. I wouldn't watch it. Most people, who have been taught the double lift have been taught it the same way EVERYONE else has been taught...getting a break either before OR after you introduce yourself. I (for one) hate having breaks set before I meet or introduce myself to my audiences...why? It doesn't seem practical. I usually am taking decks out of the box then, or searching for jokers to show its a normal, complete deck without setups, or handing it off to be shuffled. I also use Chicago (red hot mama, or whatever it is called in California now) as a opener, but never in a way with a double lift involved...that is just sketchy in itself. I like the advice, if you were in the middle of a routine, sure. Having a double lift that is literally, "lifted" looks great, and is a really great idea. Never in a million years would I approach someone with it already done though...

Great information. Thank you for the clip. However, Aaron is annoying. Does anyone else agree? I couldn't imagine watching a whole DVD of him.

It goes to show that a teacher can make or break a lesson or class. I can watch Brad all day long (unless he has eye-liner on throughout the DVD) because of his way of teaching without trying to be clever and humorous (like Aaron) and without being boring (many other magicians on DVDs).

If Aaron would just bring it down a few notches and didn't try so hard to be "entertaining" he would be much more effective as a teacher.
